About The Author

Jennifer Gregson was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She moved to NYC in 2001 to follow her dream of becoming a Broadway star, but after years of auditioning she started to crave a different way of entertaining others and decided to try her hand at National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and a new love emerged.

When she’s not working on her next novel, she’s chilling in Queens with her husband and son, singing musical theater songs, drinking way too much coffee, and dreaming about her next Disney vacation.

New York City, a young artist on the rise, and closely held family secrets — what could go wrong?

Rachel Addison has just turned eighteen and lives on the Upper East Side with her parents. All she wants to do is paint and have an amazing solo gallery show downtown, but her barely-functioning alcoholic mom is acting very weird lately, her dad is never around when she needs him, and then there's Noah — the handsome older man that appears in her life right when she doesn’t need a distraction.

When the complications of life get to be too much, Rachel escapes back to her hometown in New Jersey, where she discovers a shocking truth about her birth. This secret turns her life inside out and upside down. Back in the city, she struggles to finish her last painting and deal with the complicated relationship she now has with her parents. To top it all off, Rachel doesn’t even know who she is anymore or what to do with these feelings she has for Noah.

This is a wonderful story about a young girl finding herself. The suspense kept me turning pages and the author didn't disappoint. I especially enjoyed the way she conveyed the main character's artistic process.

I really enjoyed this book. The questions and lies start right away and the author did a good job of maintaining the tension until the climax. The dialogue was very well written and fast paced. I could feel myself in this young, naive girl's place.

Simply refreshing. I enjoyed the innocence of Rachel and reading how life propelled her into adulthood. The book drew me in and I felt every emotion with each twist and turn of the story. Excitingly awaiting JG'S next book.

There's nothing like an author that can make you feel big feelings towards a character. Jennifer does a great job of doing just that - making you hope the characters' hopes, feel their big feelings, and even be annoyed on their behalf.

Etta and Gina is a fun read, but also one that really makes you think back on your own life journey. Highly recommend.

I flew through this book...pun fully intended 😉 A true coming-of-age story, I found myself simultaneously cheering for the main character as she makes her own way in the world, and also face-palming at some of her dumb young adult decisions.
